About the Role
You will design robotic hardware and end-of-arm tooling, conduct structural and thermal analysis, prototype and test systems, select components, integrate mechanical assemblies, investigate failures, manage suppliers and BOMs, and guide products from concepts through production and end-of-life support.
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with 3D solid modeling, analysis, and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- 8 or more years of CAD, prototyping, fabrication, or 3D-printing design experience
- Ability to conduct root-cause corrective actions and trade studies
- Communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Design robotic hardware, mechanisms, and system architectures
- Develop end-of-arm tooling with design-for-manufacturing compliance
- Conduct finite element and thermal simulations
- Perform structural analysis and validation
- Prototype hardware using 3D printers and CNC machines
- Select electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic components
- Integrate motors, sensors, and cabling into mechanical assemblies
- Troubleshoot and optimize hardware and automation systems
- Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions
- Lead mechanical risk assessments and safety compliance
- Manage BOMs, inventory support, suppliers, and cost-reduction efforts
- Oversee the mechanical product lifecycle
- Mentor junior engineers
