About the Role
You will design structural components and assemblies for robotic hands, integrating actuators, electronics, mechanisms, sensors, wiring, and thermal hardware. You will use analysis, FEA, and testing to validate designs, optimize them for manufacturing, and support suppliers and production ramp.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related discipline
- 2+ years of experience designing integrated mechanical systems or electromechanical assemblies
- 3D CAD software
- Structural FEA
- Mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis
- High-volume manufacturing design
- Engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and engineering change documentation
Responsibilities
- Design and release structural components and assemblies
- Develop integrated structures for actuators, electronics, mechanisms, sensors, wiring, and thermal hardware
- Use FEA, analysis, and physical testing to optimize structures
- Design and execute structural tests
- Drive designs through prototyping, validation, and production release
- Apply DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, and cost optimization
- Resolve manufacturing issues with suppliers and partners
- Support production ramp and continuous improvement
