About the Role
You will design robotic automation systems, infrastructure layouts, and custom end-of-arm tooling from concept through implementation. You will select components, perform structural analysis, create manufacturing drawings, document designs, estimate costs and effort, and coordinate builds with internal teams, external integrators, and partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience
- Hands-on experience designing custom end-of-arm tooling and robotic automation systems
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, preferably Autodesk Inventor, PDM or PLM systems, and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of design principles, DFM, DFA, and GD&T
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, external integrators, and customers
Responsibilities
- Develop robotic automation systems and infrastructure layouts
- Estimate project costs and effort
- Design and implement robotic automation and end-of-arm tooling
- Select components and integrate technology products into automation workcells
- Create manufacturing drawings and design documentation
- Establish mechanical hardware and component-selection standards
- Collaborate with product managers, software developers, researchers, integrators, and customers
- Document and communicate work for internal and external stakeholders
- Support deployments and partner integration through travel
