About the Role
You will design, build and operate production Python web applications, agentic workflows and data services. You will develop secure APIs, data pipelines and AWS-based platform components; deliver automated testing, deployment and monitoring; and guide engineering quality through reviews and mentoring.
Requirements
- Experience designing building and operating production-grade Python data pipelines and platforms
- Experience building Python web applications backend services and APIs
- Experience developing applications or workflows using large language models or AI agents
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools to review test debug and maintain generated code
- Experience with orchestration automated testing CI/CD deployment and monitoring
- Experience building cloud-based solutions using AWS
- Understanding of data modelling schema design data quality and performance optimisation
- Experience with batch and streaming data pipelines
- Understanding of cloud security access control authentication authorisation IAM and secrets management
- Experience providing technical leadership through reviews standards and mentoring
- Right to work in the UK
Responsibilities
- Build and operate production Python web applications
- Develop agentic workflows connected to approved tools APIs datasets and business systems
- Translate business requirements into production solutions
- Build and maintain front ends and Python backend services
- Provide documented APIs templates and coaching for business-owned front ends
- Design secure reusable backend services
- Implement evaluation monitoring audit trails and safeguards for agentic workflows
- Design and enhance batch and streaming data pipelines
- Own AWS backend and data-platform services
- Maintain CI/CD automated testing deployment monitoring and operational support
- Improve resilience performance and data governance
- Review designs and code and mentor engineers
