About the Role
You will design and implement C++ and Python tooling for ROS and ROS 2 components. You will integrate sensors and actuators, architect robust subsystems, solve performance issues, own systems end to end, improve code quality, review code, and document reliable engineering practices.
Requirements
- 8 or more years of production software development experience with modern C++
- Experience owning and delivering software systems
- Knowledge of large-scale system design and architecture
- Experience with concurrency and real-time programming
- Analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Communication and cross-team collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or equivalent practical experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
Responsibilities
- Design and implement C++ and Python tooling for ROS and ROS 2 components
- Integrate sensors, actuators, device drivers, interfaces, health checks, and diagnostics
- Architect scalable and testable subsystems
- Diagnose and resolve performance and scalability issues
- Own components, features, and systems end to end
- Develop reusable back-end integration components
- Improve code quality, efficiency, and performance
- Conduct code reviews and write documentation
