About the Role
You will own production infrastructure end to end, including architecture decisions, AWS, databases, deployments, workflow pipelines, observability, security, uptime, and incident response. You will establish operational standards, write application code when needed, mentor engineers, and build the foundation for a scalable platform function.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years running production infrastructure at scale
- Experience designing infrastructure architecture from the ground up
- Experience as the senior-most infrastructure voice at a scaling startup
- Experience owning Postgres in production at scale
- Software engineering ability to read, write, and debug application code
- Experience establishing incident response practices and SLOs and SLIs
- Experience automating repetitive operational work
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for infrastructure architecture, including build-versus-buy and vendor decisions
- Establish on-call practices, SLOs, SLIs, incident postmortems, uptime ownership, and incident response
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure across Vercel and AWS
- Design, provision, and manage AWS infrastructure
- Own Supabase and Postgres infrastructure, including performance tuning, backups, migrations, and scaling
- Build and maintain background job and workflow infrastructure on Trigger.dev
- Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and tracing
- Harden security practices through secrets management, access control, and compliance readiness
- Write and ship application code when a product fix is appropriate
- Mentor engineers on production best practices and develop a scalable platform function
