About the Role
You will lead technical customer engagements from discovery through close, running structured proof-of-value projects and defining clear success criteria. You will analyze databases, pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and on-premises systems, then design integrations using CDC, Kafka, data warehouses, and replication patterns. You will present solutions to technical and executive audiences, support customer handoffs, and share field insights that improve products and workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Engineer or Sales Engineer in enterprise or similarly complex environments
- Deep familiarity with at least one RDBMS such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or DB2
- Basic troubleshooting, logging and archiving knowledge, and familiarity with query plans
- Working knowledge of at least one cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, Iceberg, Databricks, or Redshift
- Working knowledge of Kafka, dbt, and BI platforms
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Networking knowledge sufficient for technical solutioning conversations
- Strong communication skills across technical and executive audiences
- A structured and rigorous approach to running proof-of-concept projects
- Curiosity and a low-ego approach to understanding customer problems
Responsibilities
- Run structured proof-of-value engagements with technical success criteria and mutual action plans
- Partner with account executives from technical discovery through close
- Serve as the trusted technical voice for engineers, data architects, and platform leads
- Analyze customer databases, pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and on-premises systems
- Map customer architectures to CDC, Kafka, cloud data warehouse, and replication capabilities
- Whiteboard solutions and guide integration design
- Translate technical concepts into business impact
- Present technical solutions to engineers and executives
- Share field insights with Product and Engineering
- Automate manual workflows with AI
- Support seamless post-sale customer handoffs
- Help define effective Solutions Engineer practices
