About the Role

Bridge engineering and product by leading a team of 4–6 engineers, spending 40–50% of the time on technical work and the remainder on people, product, and stakeholder responsibilities. Design and evolve cloud-based distributed systems, set technical standards, review and write code, make stack decisions, and hire, develop, and retain technical talent.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years leading teams.
  • Proven experience designing and operating cloud-based distributed systems using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Ability to review and write code in Go, Node.js, .NET, Java, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience in startups or high-growth environments using agile methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders and participate in product discussions.
  • Professional written and spoken English.
  • Experience leading architecture migrations from monoliths to microservices.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability.
  • Direct experience with customers or end users.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4–6 engineers and prioritize the backlog with product.
  • Ensure continuous delivery.
  • Design and evolve the system architecture, including microservices, APIs, and cloud-based distributed systems.
  • Provide technical leadership through code reviews, stack decisions, and engineering standards.
  • Work with product and customers to translate needs into technical solutions.
  • Hire, develop, and retain technical talent.
