About the Role
You will build production services and tooling for the out-of-band control plane across a heterogeneous hardware fleet. You will develop IPMI, Redfish, DPU, serial-console, and provisioning workflows; improve testing and delivery tooling; participate in on-call; and document system interfaces and failure modes.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend services or systems software
- Production experience with Rust, Go, or C/C++
- Linux knowledge including processes, networking, systemd, and kernel concepts
- Knowledge of HTTP APIs, JSON, gRPC, and RPC or IPC patterns
- Familiarity with IPMI, Redfish, BMC tooling, PXE/iPXE, or bare-metal provisioning, or strong systems fundamentals
- Ability to read vendor documentation, RFCs, and packet captures
- Written communication skills
- Exposure to DPUs, SmartNICs, SR-IOV, IOMMU, virtualization stacks, BGP, VXLAN, or datacenter networking
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain services that interact with server BMCs using IPMI and Redfish
- Develop control-plane tooling for DPU provisioning and lifecycle management
- Implement and harden serial-over-LAN, virtual media, and remote console workflows
- Write observable, tested Rust, Go, and PHP services
- Contribute to internal SDKs and shared libraries
- Partner with datacenter operations and hardware vendors to debug production behavior
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and on-call rotations
- Improve test coverage, CI/CD pipelines, and hardware automation tooling
- Document interfaces, runbooks, and failure modes
