About the Role

You will write, test, and maintain C++ and Python software for simulation adapters, plugins, and interfaces. You will help migrate capabilities to HMSF, maintain legacy integrations, diagnose integration issues, verify plugin behavior, and create tests, documentation, and example configurations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
  • Programming experience in C++ and Python
  • Familiarity with Linux development environments
  • Knowledge of Git-based version control, debugging, code review, and automated testing
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming, APIs, interfaces, and modular design
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP, UDP, client-server communication, message passing, or serialization
  • Interest in modeling and simulation, autonomy, robotics, distributed systems, game engines, visualization, or defense technology
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Experience with simulation, robotics, autonomy, game engines, embedded systems, or vehicle modeling preferred
  • Familiarity with AFSIM, NGTS, Unreal Engine, Unity, Gazebo, ROS, MATLAB, or Simulink preferred
  • Familiarity with DDS, ROS 2, ZeroMQ, gRPC, message queues, CIGI, DIS, HLA, or CSF preferred
  • Experience with GoogleTest, pytest, CTest, CMake, Make, Bazel, Docker, or Podman preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, compile, test, and maintain C++ and Python simulation software
  • Contribute integrations for AFSIM, NGTS, Aechelon, HMSSimBlocks, and HMSF
  • Port features from HMSSimBlocks to HMSF and validate behavior
  • Maintain HMSSimBlocks integrations
  • Develop reusable simulation components and plugin patterns
  • Implement and maintain CIGI-based plugins and interfaces
  • Verify plugin behavior for CSF loading, DDS, GRID, and Hivemind SDK compatibility
  • Diagnose simulation and autonomy integration issues
  • Write unit tests, automated integration tests, documentation, and example configurations
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, bug triage, and debugging
