About the Role

You contribute to the physical design of next-generation AI chips using advanced EDA tools and in-house flows. You deliver signoff-quality designs, enhance tools and methodologies, debug complex engineering problems, optimize flows, and collaborate with silicon design, architecture, packaging, product engineering, and external support teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related subject
  • Ability to program or script in Tcl and Python
  • Experience in 7nm or smaller technologies
  • Experience with physical design flows including floorplanning, budgeting, synthesis, place and route, clock CTS, timing analysis, logical equivalence, and physical verification
  • Problem-solving skills for debugging issues and finding root causes
  • Expertise in one or more aspects of physical design flows
  • Experience with PPA optimization, silicon transistor design, standard cell libraries, memories, 2D and 3D design, or chip finishing

Responsibilities

  • Use EDA tools and in-house Graphcore flows to deliver signoff-quality designs
  • Enhance existing flows and in-house tools and APIs
  • Analyze and debug complex engineering problems
  • Apply emerging technical knowledge to optimize in-house flows and methodologies
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party support engineers and contractors
  • Contribute to the efficiency and success of the physical design team
