About the Role
Serve as a senior technical authority for construction quality across mission-critical data center infrastructure, defining quality standards, governing inspections and documentation, reviewing technical materials, preventing defects, supporting commissioning readiness and turnover, analyzing root causes, and mentoring quality and construction personnel.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in construction QA/QC, quality engineering, field engineering, commissioning support, or related technical construction roles
- Deep technical understanding of MEP systems
- Experience with electrical distribution, mechanical and cooling systems, controls, and system integration
- Experience developing ITPs, inspection plans, quality standards, checklists, NCR processes, punch management, and turnover documentation
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, test reports, commissioning documents, and codes
- Experience with defect tracking, trend analysis, root cause methodology, and corrective action frameworks
- Strong field presence and technical issue identification skills
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Familiarity with Procore, BIM360, Autodesk Build, Bluebeam, or similar tools is a plus
- Relevant quality, project management, or process improvement certifications are a plus
Responsibilities
- Define and improve quality engineering standards, inspection methods, and acceptance criteria
- Develop and govern inspection test plans, checklists, workflows, and quality documentation
- Ensure MEP systems comply with design intent, specifications, codes, and performance expectations
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, field changes, and execution plans
- Lead root cause analysis for defects, non-conformances, rework, and quality failures
- Establish defect taxonomies, trend reporting, and quality metrics
- Drive pre-functional and functional readiness standards
- Provide quality sign-off recommendations before commissioning, energization, turnover, and handoff
- Review non-conformance reports, corrective action plans, punch lists, test reports, and turnover packages
- Identify quality risks and influence corrective action
- Translate field lessons into standards and quality practices
- Mentor QC engineers, QC managers, construction teams, and trade partners
