About the Role

You will own aircraft fuel-system requirements, architecture, hardware, and technical decisions from concept through deployment. You will design and integrate fuel-system components, analyze performance, lead reviews and supplier engagements, execute testing, investigate failures, and improve flight hardware using ground and flight data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 7 or more years of experience in aerospace fuel systems, fluid systems, propulsion, or related aircraft system development
  • Understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and compressible and incompressible flow
  • Understanding of aerospace fuel-system design
  • Hands-on experience with fluid-system hardware integration, instrumentation, testing, flight support, and failure investigations
  • Proficiency in Python or similar engineering-analysis tools
  • Ability to drive ambiguous technical problems to measurable results
  • U.S. citizenship and active security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Own fuel-system requirements, architecture, interfaces, hardware, and technical decisions
  • Design, size, and integrate fuel tanks, pumps, valves, plumbing, venting, pressurization, filtration, and level-sensing hardware
  • Analyze fuel-system performance across the aircraft operating envelope
  • Lead design reviews, supplier engagements, and hardware procurement
  • Plan and execute component, subsystem, and vehicle-level testing
  • Analyze ground and flight data to validate performance and improve hardware or operations
  • Lead failure investigations and root-cause analysis
  • Collaborate on building, integrating, troubleshooting, and iterating flight hardware
