About the Role
You will own the thrust vector control system from concept and architecture through design, integration, testing, flight, and operational support. You will define requirements and interfaces, integrate vectoring mechanisms, lead ground and flight testing, analyze performance, manage reliability, and support technical reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- 7+ years of aerospace propulsion or flight-control-system experience
- Understanding of nozzle dynamics, actuation systems, mechanical integration, and structural and thermal constraints
- Hardware development, test-planning, and flight-test-support experience
- Python proficiency for performance analysis, data processing, and model correlation
- Familiarity with ANSYS, FEA, or thermal and fluid modeling
- U.S. citizenship or ability to comply with ITAR requirements
Responsibilities
- Own technical decisions for the thrust vector control system from concept to flight
- Define and manage system requirements, performance goals, and mechanical and electrical interfaces
- Design and integrate vectoring mechanisms with the engine and surrounding structure
- Lead ground and flight testing, instrumentation planning, data collection, and performance evaluation
- Analyze control authority, vectoring bandwidth, and dynamic response
- Collaborate on vectoring logic and closed-loop system performance
- Own fault management, failure investigations, and reliability strategies
- Represent the system in reviews, technical checkpoints, briefings, and leadership updates
