About the Role
You will apply mission engineering, systems engineering, modeling, simulation, and operational analysis to assess autonomous capabilities. You will create mission artifacts and requirements, conduct trade studies, collaborate with defense stakeholders, present recommendations, and build reliable model and analysis workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in mission engineering, systems engineering, operational analysis, modeling and simulation, or a related discipline.
- Experience in mission-thread analysis, force-on-force analysis, capability-gap analysis, CONOPS development, or military campaign modeling.
- Proficiency with SysML or systems engineering tools and AFSIM, STK, MATLAB, or Python for aerospace and defense applications.
- Experience working with DoD stakeholders, warfighters, and government agencies.
- Systems engineering, data analysis, and software-development best practices.
- Communication and technical briefing skills.
Responsibilities
- Employ the Mission Engineering process to assess autonomous capabilities in representative military scenarios.
- Develop mission models, architectures, analytical frameworks, requirements, and traceability artifacts.
- Develop mission threads, concepts of operations, and mission architectures for AI-driven autonomous capabilities.
- Translate mission needs and operational insights into system requirements, design decisions, and capability improvements.
- Define trade studies and sensitivity analyses to identify mission drivers, capability gaps, dependencies, and performance thresholds.
- Collaborate with DoD stakeholders, operators, and warfighters to characterize missions and align capabilities with operational needs.
- Develop and present technical reports, mission architectures, trade studies, and recommendations.
- Build and iterate mission models and analysis pipelines using modern compute and development practices.
