Senior Software Engineer (Solvers)
Defuse Labs develops NEAR Intents to enable seamless cross-chain interactions in an automated world — connecting AI, services, and financial applications.
About Defuse Labs
At Defuse Labs we design intent-driven liquidity layers, where smart contracts breathe, AI transacts and chains sync in real-time With expertise in AI, cryptography, and decentralized finance, our team is redefining how intelligent agents interact across blockchain networks. Defuse Labs is pioneering NEAR Intents, a next-generation transaction framework designed to enable seamless, AI-driven financial interactions. By automating complex cross-chain operations, NEAR Intents empowers autonomous agents, smart contracts, and decentralized services to execute transactions efficiently and securely.
Skills
About the Role
You will architect and implement the Solver network that powers intent‑driven cross‑chain execution. You will design algorithms, execution strategies, and infrastructure for solver competition and quote aggregation. You will drive technical excellence through deep code and design reviews and high-impact architectural decisions. You will optimize systems for low latency and high throughput across decentralized environments and prototype solutions, stay hands-on with coding, and design incentive and cryptoeconomic models for solver participation. You will collaborate with product, research, and ecosystem partners to align solver capabilities with product requirements.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in distributed systems or large-scale infrastructure
- Experience with high-performance networking
- Familiarity with smart contracts, on-chain execution frameworks, or cryptoeconomics
- Fluency in Typescript and Go; experience in Rust is a plus
- Proven ability to lead globally distributed engineering teams
- Ability to abstract complexity and drive problems to resolution
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Responsibilities
- Design and build the Solver framework
- Architect algorithms and execution strategies for solver competition and quote aggregation
- Lead code and design reviews and make high-impact architectural decisions
- Collaborate with product, research, and ecosystem partners
- Ensure low-latency high-throughput execution across chains
- Design incentive structures and cryptoeconomic models
- Prototype and implement complex technical solutions while remaining hands-on
