About the Role
You will own, design, and scale highly available backend systems for a financial ecosystem. You will build Java microservices, maintain high test coverage, optimise services for reliability and performance, adopt backend technologies, and provide architectural guidance and code reviews to other developers.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Java software development
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Understanding of relational databases
- Understanding of non-relational databases
- Experience with Postgres and MongoDB preferred
- Experience creating and maintaining publicly available REST APIs
- Knowledge of message-oriented middleware
- Experience with Apache Kafka or ZeroMQ preferred
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- AWS and Kubernetes experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable Java services
- Write clean and future-proof code
- Maintain 80% unit test coverage
- Conduct end-to-end and integration testing
- Deploy services into an event-driven microservices architecture
- Optimise backend modules and services
- Research and adopt backend technologies
- Provide architectural guidance
- Conduct code reviews
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers
