About the Role

You design, develop, and maintain secure, performant, and scalable Java services and APIs. You model SQL and NoSQL data, integrate services, write automated tests, improve reliability and observability, review code, implement security practices, and contribute to CI/CD, GitOps, containers, and Kubernetes infrastructure.

Requirements

  • At least two years of production back-end development experience
  • Solid experience with Java 8 or later, ideally Java 21, and Spring Boot
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis, including modeling, migrations, and basic performance
  • Experience with automated testing, continuous integration, security practices, and code quality
  • Experience with Spring WebFlux or Reactor is a plus
  • Advanced Kafka or Pub/Sub experience is a plus
  • Daily Kubernetes and GKE experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Event Sourcing, CQRS, DDD, and JVM or SQL performance tuning is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java APIs and services using Spring Boot and Java 21
  • Model data and write efficient queries in SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Integrate services through REST, JSON, and messaging
  • Implement contracts, resilience, idempotency, and observability
  • Write unit, integration, and contract tests and automate CI quality checks
  • Review code and diagrams, mentor developers, and evolve internal standards
  • Profile and tune JVM and SQL performance and maintain SLOs and runbooks
  • Implement OAuth2, OIDC, input validation, standardized errors, secret management, and data protection
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, GitOps deployments, containers, Kubernetes, and infrastructure security
