About the Role

You will design, build, and implement changes to Stellar Core, including distributed-system components that maintain the ledger and achieve global consensus. You will improve network performance, resilience, decentralization, and incentive mechanics. You will own core subsystems, investigate and refactor bottlenecks, write maintainable code, participate in architecture, code reviews, and design discussions, and author technical feature and protocol RFC specifications.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software development experience on a team.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
  • Production experience with modern C++ or Rust.
  • Software design patterns and reusable, extensible, modular component design.
  • Technical communication and technical discussion leadership.
  • Performance debugging and benchmarking.
  • Knowledge of development best practices and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build key components of Stellar Core.
  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and extensible technologies for developers and network participants.
  • Collaborate on new architectures and subsystems.
  • Write clean, maintainable code with edge-case analysis and future-proofing.
  • Own core subsystems and help deliver critical product milestones.
  • Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and engineering best practices.
  • Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks.
  • Author technical feature and protocol RFC specifications.
