About the Role

Design and implement a high-performance, open-source Solana validator client called Sig in Zig. Understand and translate the existing Agave validator implementation in Rust, optimize performance using SIMD and other tools, and own validator components through implementation, benchmarking, and testing.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related professional experience using Rust
  • Experience in memory-managed languages such as Zig, C, or C++ is nice to have but not required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Understand and communicate how the existing Rust client works
  • Translate Rust code into high-quality, performant, and readable Zig code
  • Analyze and optimize software bottlenecks in Zig using tools such as SIMD operations
  • Lead implementation, benchmarking, and testing of validator components from start to finish
  • Collaborate and communicate across a large group of engineers
