About the Role

You will provide legal counsel throughout the development and launch lifecycle for digital identity, AI, blockchain, consumer financial, and privacy-preserving products. You will advise cross-functional stakeholders on regulatory, safety, privacy, consumer protection, and reputational risks; draft product materials; support incident response; and build scalable legal review processes and guidance.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of product counsel experience, including significant in-house experience
  • Experience supporting AI, consumer technology, financial technology, blockchain, digital identity, or other highly regulated technologies
  • Experience advising across the full product lifecycle
  • Knowledge of applicable financial services, blockchain, digital identity, AI, privacy, biometrics, consumer protection, online safety, advertising, marketing, or platform governance laws
  • Experience supporting globally distributed consumer products and multi-jurisdictional legal issues
  • Ability to understand complex technical systems, architectures, and product tradeoffs
  • Strong business judgment and risk assessment skills
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school
  • Membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • Ability to work in person from San Francisco, California

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a legal partner to product, engineering, hardware, cryptography, design, and security teams throughout product development and launches
  • Advise on legal and regulatory issues involving digital identity, biometrics, agentic AI, blockchain-enabled products, consumer financial technology, privacy, consumer protection, online safety, and platform governance
  • Assess legal and reputational risks related to new features, products, experiments, and business models
  • Develop practical, scalable approaches for global product launches across evolving regulatory environments
  • Translate complex legal and policy considerations into actionable guidance
  • Draft and advise on product terms, disclosures, policies, user flows, and internal guidance
  • Support incident response, product escalations, and cross-functional reviews involving trust, safety, security, and user risks
  • Collaborate with commercial, privacy, regulatory, employment, litigation, security, and corporate legal functions
  • Build scalable legal processes, playbooks, templates, and review frameworks
  • Improve operational systems and tooling for product reviews and launches
  • Develop practical guidance and self-service resources for business and product teams
