About the Role
You will design and develop electro-mechanical assemblies, robotic payloads, and actuators. You will build and test prototypes, integrate PCBAs into mechanical structures, validate hardware safety and reliability, create documentation, lead and mentor hardware engineers, and advise product managers and executives.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Robotics, Automotive, Aerospace, or a relevant field.
- At least five years of industry or research experience; PhD experience is applicable.
- Proficiency with CAD software for mechanical design.
- Knowledge of actuators, motors, materials, design for manufacturing, power transmission, mechanisms, and contemporary manufacturing technologies.
- Leadership experience managing teams, contractors, and OEM/ODM relationships.
- Problem-solving, debugging, and hardware optimization skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electro-mechanical assemblies, robotic payloads, and actuators.
- Build and test prototypes to evaluate functionality and performance.
- Integrate PCBAs into mechanical structures with electronics engineers.
- Test and evaluate robotic hardware for reliability, durability, and safety.
- Create hardware specifications, assembly instructions, testing protocols, guidelines, and best practices.
- Lead and mentor hardware engineers.
- Provide technical guidance to product managers and executives.
- Improve design standards and processes through design reviews.
