About the Role
You will own mechatronic systems from concept through production. You will scope capabilities, prototype and validate hardware, select and integrate actuators and sensors, develop simple embedded code, and debug systems in the workshop and on construction sites. You will prepare validated designs, CAD, drawings, and documentation for production.
Requirements
- Ability to design hardware from scratch
- Ability to collaborate across mechanical, software, controls, and vision engineering
- Experience developing proof-of-concept prototypes quickly
- Experience sourcing components and fabricating parts
- Experience integrating and validating actuators and electronics
- Experience taking prototypes to production
- Experience producing CAD in Onshape
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electrical, mechatronics, or robotics engineering
Responsibilities
- Own mechatronic systems from concept through production
- Scope, prototype, test, and validate robot capabilities
- Select and integrate actuators, sensors, microcontrollers, and electronics
- Develop or adapt embedded code for hardware bring-up and testing
- Debug hardware issues in the office and on construction sites
- Prepare CAD, drawings, documentation, and handoffs for production
