About the Role

You will own the mechanical design of grinding and finishing cells, including end effectors, tool changers, force compliance, fixturing, dust systems, and safety systems. You will solve material-removal and surface-finish problems, test designs in production, and establish mechanical approaches for new parts and customers.

Requirements

  • Experience with robotic grinding, deburring, or surface finishing
  • Knowledge of abrasives, contact forces, material removal, and finish quality
  • Experience with force and torque control, compliance, and sensing for finishing
  • Ability to work in field and production-floor environments
  • Judgment on product readiness

Responsibilities

  • Own the mechanical design of grinding and finishing cells
  • Solve material-removal, surface-finish, abrasive-selection, contact-mechanics, and cycle-time problems
  • Test designs in production environments
  • Set mechanical approaches for new parts and customers
