About the Role
You will identify and originate behind-the-meter generation opportunities and power-producer partnerships. You will lead site and partnership feasibility assessments, structure and negotiate energy agreements, develop project economics, select EPC partners, and hand off advanced opportunities to Engineering, Design & Construction. You will also manage the associate role, develop the origination playbook, and represent the business with counterparties and advisors.
Requirements
- Eight to twelve or more years of experience in power project development, power-producer origination, energy infrastructure, or onsite generation
- Record of executing power purchase agreements, tolling agreements, or comparable energy transactions
- Familiarity with gas-fired and onsite generation technologies, development timelines, and risk allocation
- Project economics and financial-modeling capability
- Experience managing EPC selection and coordinating with engineering and construction teams
- Willingness to travel throughout the United States
- Ability to be insured under the company vehicle insurance policy
Responsibilities
- Identify behind-the-meter generation assets, power producers, and gas counterparties
- Lead feasibility assessments covering land, gas supply, water, permitting, and interconnection
- Structure and negotiate power purchase, tolling, and capacity agreements
- Develop and defend project economics, cost scenarios, and sensitivity analyses
- Evaluate and select EPC partners for onsite generation projects
- Advance opportunities through negotiation and manage handoff to Engineering, Design & Construction
- Manage and develop the Onsite Generation & Power Origination Associate
- Build the outbound origination playbook
- Represent the business with counterparties, advisors, and at industry forums
