About the Role
You will lead the Guidance and Control team and oversee control and autonomy algorithms within the V-BAT codebase. You will guide algorithm development, software design, coding, testing, qualification, and flight-test support. You will coordinate work with autonomy, state estimation, simulation, aerodynamics, and embedded software teams while developing team members and maintaining career-growth plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years of related experience, Master's degree with 7 years, or PhD with 5 years
- Experience shipping products through development cycles
- Experience building and maintaining high-performing teams
- Experience with control systems for unmanned aerial systems or robotics
- Experience with outer-loop path planning or trajectory synthesis
- Experience integrating software in a hierarchical environment
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Cross-functional work-responsibility negotiation skills
Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain control and autonomy algorithms within the V-BAT codebase
- Oversee algorithm development, software design, coding, testing, qualification, and flight-test support
- Negotiate workshare and integrate solutions with cross-functional engineering teams
- Develop career-growth plans and mentor team members
- Identify team capability gaps and train or hire to address them
