About the Role
You will lead engineers building and operating cloud-native search services. You will advance vector, keyword, and hybrid search capabilities; improve relevance, latency, and cost efficiency; and define search-quality roadmaps with product and research partners. You will manage highly available services, mentor engineers and leaders, and execute the long-term product and engineering strategy for search.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in search, database systems, or AI/ML infrastructure
- Experience building and scaling highly available cloud services
- Engineering leadership experience building, growing, and managing high-performing teams
- Experience defining and meeting SLOs for distributed production systems
- Understanding of search and indexing systems such as Elasticsearch, Lucene, or vector databases
- Familiarity with database internals or large-scale data processing systems
- BS in Computer Science
Responsibilities
- Lead engineers designing, building, and operating cloud-native Search services
- Drive Vector Search, Keyword Search, and Hybrid Search innovation
- Partner with product and research to define the Search Quality roadmap, ranking models, and evaluation frameworks
- Manage and operate large-scale highly available cloud services
- Grow and mentor engineers and emerging leaders
- Shape and execute long-term Search product and engineering strategy
- Partner across functions to support AI and data applications
- Foster technical excellence, accountability, and empathy
