About the Role
You will own the accounting lifecycle for compute and cloud infrastructure spending, including contracts, accruals, prepaids, reconciliations, reporting, and commitments. You will apply technical accounting guidance, establish scalable controls and policies, partner across functions, support auditors, mentor accounting professionals, and lead automation initiatives.
Requirements
- CPA or equivalent
- Deep GAAP and technical accounting knowledge
- Significant experience accounting for cloud service or compute infrastructure expenses
- Working knowledge of ASC 842 for compute, infrastructure, or data center arrangements
- Knowledge of cloud service provider cost structures
- Ability to translate contractual terms into accounting treatment
- Experience building accounting processes, controls, and policy in high-growth environments
- Proficiency with modern ERP systems
Responsibilities
- Own the accounting lifecycle for compute and cloud infrastructure expenses
- Review infrastructure contracts for accounting treatment, commitment tracking, and compliance
- Apply ASC 842 to compute infrastructure arrangements
- Partner with Engineering, Legal, Procurement, and Finance on contract accounting implications
- Develop accounting policies for compute-cost recognition, classification, and amortization
- Design accrual and prepayment processes for cloud infrastructure costs
- Track and reconcile commitment-based agreements
- Lead accounts payable and vendor statement reconciliations
- Build scalable controls, reporting, and monitoring for compute spend
- Serve as a contact for external auditors
- Mentor accounting professionals
- Lead process transformation, automation, data-pipeline, and reporting initiatives
