About the Role
You will lead commissioning across a regional portfolio of data center projects, ensuring facilities meet reliability, efficiency, safety, and quality standards before operation. You will manage commissioning teams and agents, coordinate stakeholders, approve documentation, oversee testing, and report progress and risks.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience commissioning data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large-scale infrastructure
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing commissioning teams or programs
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and BMS/EPMS controls integration
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across design and construction stages
- Experience coordinating with general contractors, OEMs, and third-party commissioning firms
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and data-driven approach to execution
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
- PE license or CxA certification is a plus
- Willingness to travel to project sites approximately 50%
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor Commissioning Managers and Engineers
- Oversee commissioning execution across data center builds, expansions, and retrofits
- Implement and uphold commissioning standards, templates, and workflows
- Oversee third-party commissioning agents
- Coordinate with design, construction, and operations stakeholders
- Review and approve test procedures, scripts, MOPs, and acceptance criteria
- Ensure integrated systems testing and reliability demonstrations are planned and executed
- Track and report commissioning progress, milestones, and risks
- Escalate issues to the Director of Commissioning
- Capture and communicate lessons learned
- Enforce safety, compliance, and quality control throughout commissioning
