Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop engineers and engineering leads
- Structure engineering teams and define ownership
- Own engineering execution across projects and releases
- Track progress, blockers, dependencies, risks, and timelines
- Build and improve planning, estimation, development, testing, release, retrospective, and incident-management processes
- Identify and remove engineering bottlenecks
- Manage 1:1s, performance reviews, development plans, feedback cycles, and performance improvement
- Partner on workforce planning, hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and offboarding
- Translate product priorities into engineering plans
- Maintain standards for architecture, code quality, scalability, security, reliability, technical debt, and maintainability
- Ensure effective CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, observability, incident response, and production reliability practices
- Track delivery, quality, reliability, capacity, and performance metrics
