About the Role
You will design, build, and maintain core software platforms using Java and Spring. You will lead technical planning, make engineering decisions, maintain code quality, mentor engineers, improve development processes, support hiring, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable payment technology solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing and building robust scalable software systems
- Deep expertise in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
- Strong SQL and relational database design skills
- RESTful API design and consumption
- Familiarity with OpenAPI
- Experience or familiarity with Angular, React, MySQL, Kafka, Zookeeper, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Version control, build configuration, and automation tooling
- Automated and manual testing
- Unit testing frameworks
- Excellent communication skills
- Team leadership and guidance experience
- Based in Malta or open to relocation
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain understanding of software platforms, business logic, infrastructure, and delivery processes
- Lead the design and planning of technical and product initiatives
- Make engineering decisions aligned with business objectives
