About the Role
You will build backend-heavy features with TypeScript and Node.js, evolve REST APIs, work with PostgreSQL data models and migrations, own services from requirements through production support, investigate incidents, improve reliability and observability, explore unclear problems, collaborate on technical decisions, review code, mentor engineers, and contribute to React work when needed.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js backend expertise
- Production experience with incidents, debugging, API failures, and data issues
- Experience owning services end-to-end
- Product-level architectural thinking
- Understanding of microservice architectures
- Strong knowledge of HTTP APIs and SQL data modeling
- Daily use of AI coding tools and critical review of generated code
- Readiness to build knowledge of crypto and stablecoin payments
- Ability to work with ambiguity independently
- High agency and early risk identification
- Strong written and verbal English communication
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend-heavy features with TypeScript and Node.js
- Build and evolve REST APIs
- Model PostgreSQL data and manage migrations
- Own services from requirements through production support
- Drive integrations with external partners
- Investigate incidents and debug API and data failures
- Apply reliability patterns such as timeouts retries and idempotency
- Improve logs metrics and system observability
- Conduct technical spikes and create technical plans
- Clarify requirements with Product and Engineering Management
- Review code and mentor mid-level engineers
- Contribute to React code for UI updates and integrations
