About the Role
You will design, deploy, program, commission, and maintain automation and controls systems for energetic-materials manufacturing. You will develop PLC, robotic, electrical, networking, HMI, SCADA, and data-acquisition solutions; improve production performance; document systems; and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline with 7 years of industrial automation and controls experience, a relevant master's degree with 5 years of experience, or 11 years of hands-on experience
- PLC programming, troubleshooting, and optimization experience across vendor platforms
- Robotic manufacturing-system integration experience
- Knowledge of machine-learning applications in manufacturing
- Experience building electrical cabinets, running field wiring, and maintaining electrical documentation
- Ability to operate within OSHA, ITAR, and hazardous-materials regulatory environments
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain required explosives licenses
- U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorization
Responsibilities
- Design, program, commission, and maintain PLC-based control systems and robotic integrations
- Evaluate and deploy robotic work cells, machine vision systems, and machine-learning process optimization
- Design compliant electrical systems, build electrical cabinets, and install field wiring
- Design plant networks, data-acquisition systems, and remote-access functionality
- Design HMI and SCADA systems and maintain schematics, documentation, and bills of materials
- Collaborate with manufacturing, safety, compliance, and development stakeholders
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods to improve safety, quality, reliability, cost, and throughput
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians
