About the Role

You will resolve complex vehicle software and hardware issues, lead fault triage and repairs, and support high-severity escalations. You will set technical priorities during shifts, mentor Field Engineers, own projects and operational improvements, document learnings, and coordinate with stakeholders while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Experience diagnosing complex vehicle software and hardware issues in fleet, automotive, robotics, or ADAS environments
  • Understanding of software logs, deployments, configuration, system states, and failure modes
  • Ability to solve ambiguous problems independently
  • Experience setting technical priorities and guiding others
  • Experience owning projects, processes, or systems end-to-end
  • Communication and collaboration skills across teams and regions
  • Understanding of safety protocols, incident management, and operational governance
  • Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic tools, Datadog, Mender, and JIRA
  • Availability for shift-based 24/7 support, including weekends and bank holidays
  • Experience supporting or leading on-road testing operations
  • Understanding of ADAS or autonomous vehicle systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead resolution of complex vehicle software and hardware issues
  • Act as an escalation point for high-severity regional faults
  • Support cross-regional escalations across the US, UK, Germany, and Japan
  • Ensure fault triage, diagnosis, and repairs meet safety and compliance standards
  • Set day-to-day technical priorities and guide Field Engineers
  • Mentor and unblock other Field Engineers during complex incidents
  • Act as the operational stand-in for the Field Engineering Lead when required
  • Own projects, processes, and systems from definition through adoption
  • Identify recurring fleet issues and lead improvement initiatives
  • Improve tooling, workflows, documentation, and operational practices
  • Lead stakeholder discussions on diagnostic solutions
  • Document and share technical learnings
  • Champion safety-first decision-making and continuous improvement
