About the Role
You will lead research and develop policy proposals on the future of global health architecture and the role of multilateral development banks in global health. You will conduct and publish research, engage policymakers and technical communities, lead consultations, mobilize funding, oversee grants and staff, and mentor colleagues. Occasional travel may be required.
Requirements
- PhD or Masters degree in a field relevant to global health
- Strong global health profile and deep professional networks
- High level of expertise in global health architecture, including the role of multilateral development banks
- More than 10 years of experience in global health policy and research
- Ability to independently plan and complete large projects
- Track record of developing novel policy solutions with measurable impacts
- Track record of mobilizing grant funding
- Knowledge of current global health issues and debates
- Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team and inspire, manage, and motivate colleagues
- Right to live and work in the UK for UK-based candidates
- Ability to live and work in DC, Maryland, or Virginia for US-based candidates
Responsibilities
- Design and lead cutting-edge research that informs policy debates
- Conduct research on global health architecture, multilateral development banks, aid allocation, and pooled procurement
- Engage in policy outreach through speaking engagements, blogging, and high-level interactions with donor and technical communities
- Lead or participate in expert consultations and working groups
- Publish blogs, papers, policy briefs, and commentaries for policymakers, academics, and public audiences
- Track and respond to relevant research and policy developments
- Provide intellectual leadership for the global health programme
- Mobilize financial resources and contribute to programme strategy
- Oversee grant planning, budgeting, execution, methods, and staff
- Supervise and mentor mid-level and junior staff and manage their performance and development
- Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Provide analytical and coordination support for the project
