Senior Engineering Manager, API Integrations

About the Role
You will lead development of API and SDK integrations for the AUTH product. You will work directly with external exchange engineering teams to design and align on APIs, troubleshoot integration issues, and guide partner implementations. You will plan technical solutions, drive architectural decisions, introduce engineering best practices, recruit and coach engineers, and continue contributing code to maintain familiarity with the codebase.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with focus on building and maintaining robust APIs and SDKs for B2B integration
- 5+ years of engineering management experience including managing staff and principal level engineers
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience managing teams that have delivered production products
- Golang expertise and familiarity with Go idioms
- Familiarity with TypeScript and React for frontend services
- Understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology including Bitcoin and Ethereum and on-chain transaction flows
- Understanding of common crypto security practices such as key management and wallet types
- Proven experience integrating with third-party financial services or crypto exchanges/brokerages via REST, WebSockets, or proprietary APIs
- Strong knowledge of financial compliance and security standards related to digital assets and money movement such as KYC and AML
- Expertise in designing and operating large-scale distributed systems handling sensitive financial data and high transaction volumes
- Experience driving technical strategy and architectural decisions for highly available, high-throughput systems
- Exceptional client-facing communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with external engineering teams on SDK/API integrations and troubleshooting connections
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear language for technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience partnering with Product Management to define requirements and influence technical roadmaps
Responsibilities
- Deliver products and features that support business requirements
- Partner with product and program managers to plan and execute the roadmap
- Capture product requirements in technical solutions and participate in technical planning
- Drive the technical roadmap with other Engineering Managers
- Support the engineering team in achieving technical excellence
- Manage processes to improve team effectiveness and cross-functional interfaces
- Recruit, coach, and develop engineers and establish career development plans
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as an engineering management team member
- Participate in technical, design, and product discussions with leaders
- Work with stakeholders to build and communicate a clear team vision
- Oversee project success and achieve quantifiable results
- Introduce industry-leading engineering patterns and practices
- Make consistent development contributions to maintain codebase competency
