About the Role
You will own system-level electrical architecture and design electrical systems from schematics and PCB layout through validation. You will define requirements and tests, lead design reviews, support production and deployment, ensure safety and compliance, troubleshoot issues, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in robotics, automation, or electromechanical systems
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Electrical safety, control systems, and system-level design
- Autonomous mobile robot and industrial robot safety standards
- AC/DC power distribution, protection systems, and three-phase industrial power
- Cable harness design and system wiring
- Power electronics, motors, motor control, and sensors
- PCB design, schematic layout, and assembly
- Altium
- OnShape
- Ability to work from the Charlestown office at least 4 days per week
Responsibilities
- Own system-level electrical architecture for robotic platforms
- Design, develop, debug, and validate electrical systems
- Develop electrical requirements, specifications, verification plans, and test procedures
- Create electrical drawings, schematics, and PCB layouts
- Lead technical design reviews
- Execute product designs from concept through production
- Support production release, deployment, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering
- Apply safety, EMC, compliance, and functional safety standards
- Mentor engineers on technical approach and design practices
