About the Role
You will lead and develop a global team of Field CTOs while serving as the senior technical voice for strategic customer accounts. You will define the team operating model, coach senior contributors, guide executive engagements, deliver thought leadership, and turn field feedback into actionable input for product, marketing, sales strategy, and technical content.
Requirements
- Experience leading a senior customer-facing technical team and developing senior individual contributors across regions and time zones.
- People leadership skills including hiring, coaching, performance management, and deployment decisions.
- Significant technology leadership experience in DevSecOps, application security, information security, or related areas.
- Understanding of AI for software development, developer productivity, security, compliance, and enterprise platform strategy.
- Knowledge of software development practices, continuous integration and continuous deployment, cloud and platform architecture, and secure software delivery.
- Executive communication skills and the ability to tailor technical strategy to different audiences.
- Experience representing a company through events, analyst conversations, media opportunities, and technical thought leadership.
- Experience working autonomously in a fully remote, asynchronous environment and partnering with VP-level stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the global Field CTO team by hiring, developing, and retaining senior technical leaders.
- Set the operating model for Field CTO engagements, account and regional matching, and insight sharing.
- Coach senior individual contributors through one-on-ones, peer review, and development plans.
- Engage as the senior technical voice for strategic accounts, complex pre-sales motions, and executive customer relationships.
- Deliver thought leadership through customer briefings, presentations, events, and written content.
- Partner with sales, sales engineering, customer success, product, and marketing to align go-to-market priorities.
- Represent GitLab with analysts, media, industry audiences, and executive forums.
- Turn field feedback into actionable input for product direction, marketing, sales strategy, enablement materials, and technical content.
