About the Role

You will lead the Legal function end-to-end, drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial agreements, and providing product-focused legal counsel to Product and Engineering. You will manage corporate governance, equity and board-related legal work, handle people-related legal matters, build legal infrastructure (templates and playbooks), manage outside counsel, and advise on crypto regulatory developments.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of legal experience post-law school with a mix of law firm and in-house experience
• Strong commercial drafting and negotiation skills
• Experience serving as product counsel and partnering with Product and Engineering teams
• Ability to provide risk-calibrated advice that enables product development
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous regulatory environments
• Experience at a high-growth technology company
• Self-starter who thrives with autonomy
• Top-tier law firm background (nice to have)
• Experience at a crypto or fintech company (nice to have)
• Familiarity with crypto regulatory landscape including SEC, FinCEN, state regulations, MiCA (nice to have)
• Background in data privacy such as GDPR and CCPA (nice to have)

Responsibilities

• Lead the Legal function across commercial, product, corporate, and people matters
• Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements including partnership deals, customer contracts, vendor agreements, and DPAs
• Provide risk-calibrated legal guidance to Product and Engineering for new features and international expansion
• Manage corporate governance, equity matters, and board-related legal work
• Handle people-related legal matters including employment agreements, policies, and compliance
• Build legal infrastructure including contract templates, playbooks, and self-serve resources
• Manage relationships with external counsel for specialized matters
• Advise on crypto regulatory developments and implications for product
