About the Role

You will design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable backend systems, web applications, services, and public APIs. You will translate functional visions and customer pain points into technical requirements, roadmaps, and clear outcomes. You will provide shared engineering services to internal business units, lead projects as a technical anchor, validate implementation options through time-boxed prototypes, and balance scope, quality, and delivery speed. You will also participate in an on-call rotation and triage internal-tools support requests received through designated Slack channels.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and building scalable systems, web applications, APIs, and services
  • Understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and analytical databases
  • Experience identifying customer pain points and translating them into technical and product requirements
  • Ability to structure problems and identify critical priorities
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to technical and non-technical audiences verbally and in writing
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Applied AI fluency

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain public APIs within the API product suite
  • Design and build scalable backend systems, web applications, APIs, and services
  • Translate functional visions and customer pain points into technical and product requirements and roadmaps
  • Support internal business units through shared engineering services and functionality
  • Build cross-functional stakeholder relationships and support their objectives end to end
  • Lead projects as a technical anchor
  • Prioritize engineering work and adapt plans as new information emerges
  • Use time-boxed prototypes to evaluate implementation options and feasibility
  • Participate in the internal-tools on-call rotation
  • Triage internal-tools support requests from designated Slack channels
  • Use AI to accelerate workflows, solve problems, improve quality, and increase delivery speed
