About the Role
You will design and develop primary and secondary UAV structures throughout the design lifecycle. You will create CAD models and drawings, perform structural calculations, support validation and integration, resolve build issues, and document work in accordance with aerospace standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of aircraft structural design or related aerospace-structures experience.
- Experience designing and releasing structural components in development or production environments.
- Knowledge of composite and metallic structures, fasteners, bonded joints, and load paths.
- Proficiency with CAD tools.
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stackups, and DFMA principles.
- Written and verbal technical communication skills.
- Ability to operate in fast-paced engineering environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop structural components and assemblies for primary and secondary aircraft structures.
- Execute conceptual development, CAD modeling, detailed design, and drawing release.
- Perform stress and strain calculations and basic FEA analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing disciplines on airframe-interface integration.
- Support coupon, subcomponent, and system-level structural validation.
- Generate design documentation, drawings, interface definitions, and analysis reports.
- Resolve build issues and support hardware through test and deployment.
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
- Develop technical depth in structural layout, joints, fasteners, tolerancing, and structural optimization.
