About the Role
Formic is hiring a Robotics Deployment Project Manager to oversee robotics automation deployments from scope validation through installation, commissioning, and close-out. The role combines technical fluency, disciplined project management, customer coordination, issue resolution, and continuous process improvement in manufacturing environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience in technically complex manufacturing or industrial environments
- 3+ years of direct experience with robotics or automation systems
- Experience with industrial robots or cobots such as FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa, ABB, or Universal Robots
- Experience working with or alongside industrial robotics system integrators
- Experience with end-of-line automation is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
- Structured problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments
- Willingness to travel approximately 35–40%
- Valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle for local travel
Responsibilities
- Lead deployment projects from scope validation through installation and commissioning
- Partner with Applications and Solutions Engineers and third-party integrators to define requirements and validate technical scope
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies
- Monitor progress against deadlines, quality standards, and cost targets
- Resolve technical, operational, and scheduling issues
- Coordinate communication across customers, integrators, and internal teams
- Drive handoffs from pre-sales through deployment and project close-out
- Improve deployment and project management processes
