About the Role

You will own the real-time sensing-to-motion control loop for physical robots. You will develop state estimation, feedback and predictive control, and trajectory corrections that achieve accuracy under uncertainty, noise, and latency. You will build robust hard-real-time software, evaluate sensing limits and uncertainty, and help direct learning-based and whole-body control work.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of real-time control and state estimation, including model-predictive control, Kalman filtering, particle filtering, moving-horizon estimation, and observability analysis.
• Experience with manipulation robotics, including arm kinematics and dynamics, trajectory generation, coordinate frames, and calibration.
• Experience with sensor-guided motion or visual servoing on real hardware.
• Experience building and operating real-time robotic systems on hardware.
• Knowledge of robot perception, geometric or model-based vision, 3D sensing, point-cloud registration, and calibration.
• Modern production C++ experience for real-time systems.
• Experience with ROS or ROS 2 and hard-real-time software practices.

• Assess what available sensing can estimate, model uncertainty, and design systems that fail safely.
• Build robust hard-real-time software for physical robots.
• Set technical direction for learning-based and whole-body control.
