About the Role

You will serve as the operational risk partner for the New York office. You will monitor exposures, limits, controls, scenarios, and exceptions; investigate and escalate issues; coordinate with trading, operations, clearing, treasury, technology, and compliance; and use Python, SQL, and Excel for analysis and reporting.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of equities-focused risk or trading experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Operational risk knowledge across the trade lifecycle
  • Prime brokerage and clearing knowledge
  • Margin and financing knowledge
  • Short inventory and locates knowledge
  • Market access controls knowledge
  • Exchange connectivity and trading systems knowledge
  • Factor model and VaR experience
  • US equity market microstructure knowledge
  • Python
  • SQL
  • Bloomberg
  • Advanced Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively with traders and technologists
  • Availability for onsite work in New York and occasional off-hours support

Responsibilities

  • Set and monitor exposure limits and guardrails
  • Operate risk controls and alerting
  • Investigate, escalate, and document exceptions
  • Monitor factor, sector, liquidity, and correlation exposures
  • Review scenario and stress outputs
  • Perform daily and intraday risk monitoring
  • Apply US equity market microstructure knowledge
  • Liaise with prime brokers, clearing firms, and exchanges
  • Triage trade-lifecycle issues
  • Query firm datasets and automate reporting
