About the Role

You will research suppliers, compare goods and services, obtain quotes, and prepare purchase orders according to company policies. You will negotiate pricing and discounts, monitor and expedite orders, manage supplier relationships, reconcile credit-card purchases, maintain reports, and resolve purchasing discrepancies.

Responsibilities

Research and compare suppliers, goods, services, and prices
Evaluate suppliers for price, reliability, quality, availability, and cost efficiency
Reject incomplete purchasing tickets or obtain quotes for requestors
Redirect vendor selections toward vendors offering extended credit
Prepare and process purchase orders
Forward orders to suppliers and monitor and expedite orders
Schedule deliveries and communicate expected delivery dates
Negotiate volume discounts and investigate cost-saving opportunities
Analyze and resolve purchasing discrepancies
Build and maintain supplier relationships
Compile purchasing reports
Reconcile credit-card purchases and forward invoices to Finance
Follow standard work processes and internal controls
