About the Role
You will install, commission, test, and support PLC-controlled equipment at customer sites. You will coordinate onsite commissioning, update Jira records, audit contractor work, resolve blocked items, train engineers, work with project managers, and identify commissioning requirements during product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, automated production management, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience with PLC, Allen Bradley, ABB, Fanuc, Ethernet/IP, or Panel View Plus
- Hands-on mechanical engineering experience preferred
- Experience with motion-control equipment including VFDs
- Ability to debug and provide support through Remote Desktop, SSH, and browsers
- Project management experience across internal stakeholders
- Ability to schedule complex work with dependencies and drive production
- Record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
- Ability to work at customer installation locations and meet physical and safety requirements
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison for onsite commissioning support, issue resolution, and cross-department coordination
- Maintain commissioning workload, progress, and reporting in Jira
- Design, benchmark, and standardize commissioning processes
- Audit third-party contractor work and documentation
- Verify Jira ticket content and status with engineers
- Track timesheet hours against commissioning tasks and projects
- Resolve blocked and rejected Jira items
- Facilitate weekly training sessions and documentation updates
- Collaborate with project managers to resolve blocking issues
- Travel to work onsite with project stakeholders
- Participate in product development design reviews, workshops, and planning sessions
