About the Role
Own one core trading sub-surface at Alpaca, shipping API-driven trading capabilities for developer and partner customers in a regulated brokerage environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, Consulting, or startup work, preferably in regulated trading or brokerage infrastructure.
- Depth in at least one trading surface shipped to production scale.
- Experience shipping B2B or developer-facing products, including SDKs, APIs, or partner integrations.
- Experience working with compliance, legal, and market-structure teams in a regulated environment.
- Experience analyzing data with SQL and a relevant BI tool.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, finance, or equivalent.
- Business acumen to balance stakeholder needs, technical feasibility, time, and budget tradeoffs.
- Broker-dealer, institutional brokerage, B2B2C, market-structure, FIX, OMS/EMS, trading operations, or AI-native PM experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own a core trading sub-surface and drive prioritization, API design, and rollout.
- Run partner and prospect discovery and translate findings into a sequenced backlog.
- Write PRDs, align with engineering on API contracts, and produce partner-facing documentation.
- Partner with compliance, legal, and market-structure teams on licensing, trading rules, best execution, and venue connectivity.
- Improve operational efficiency through exception handling, tooling, and automation.
- Track trading volume, order success, partner activation, and blockers to improve adoption.
- Report product status and results to internal and external stakeholders.
