About the Role
You will lead the development of the NODE trading platform and take hands-on ownership of technical architecture and delivery. You will define, build, and ship secure, scalable, high-performance systems; mentor and grow engineers; translate product requirements into robust technical designs; and implement processes for reliable deployments, incident response, and observability. You will work closely with frontend and backend engineers, designers, and trading stakeholders to deliver low-latency real-time experiences.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role
- Proven experience making architecture decisions for complex, data-intensive applications
- Deep experience building and scaling real-time, high-data-volume systems
- Strong command of modern frontend stack: TypeScript, React, Node.js
- Hands-on server-side experience with Node.js, Python, Go, or similar languages
- Solid understanding of end-to-end system architecture: APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, WebSockets, message queues, and databases
- Experience with infrastructure and DevOps fundamentals: CI/CD, cloud platforms, CDN, monitoring, and observability
- Strong understanding of security best practices (OWASP, authentication and authorization, secure data handling)
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and growing engineering teams
- Nice to have: experience at a trading firm or fintech, familiarity with algorithmic trading concepts, and performance optimization at scale
Responsibilities
- Define and own technical architecture for trading products, client portals, and internal applications
- Lead and mentor a team of full-stack engineers and set coding and review standards
- Drive technical strategy and translate business requirements into scalable solutions
- Architect systems for high data volumes, real-time streaming, and low-latency interactions
- Oversee frontend experience across the customer lifecycle including onboarding and trading dashboards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, trading, and backend teams to ensure alignment
- Establish and evolve engineering processes including sprint planning, incident response, and deployment pipelines
