About the Role
Provide legal leadership for marketplaces and products, advise on federal and state securities, banking, and insurance laws, counsel across the product lifecycle, monitor evolving digital asset and blockchain regulations, guide marketing and design teams, and negotiate financial agreements.
Requirements
- At least 5+ years practicing as outside counsel or in-house counsel for financial services firms
- Deep expertise in the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, and Investment Company Act of 1940
- Regulatory agency experience with the SEC or CFTC is a plus
- Strong negotiation skills and experience preparing and negotiating prime brokerage, trading, lending, and derivatives agreements
- Deep knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements for financial markets, crypto assets, RWA digital assets, smart contracts, and digital wallets
- Product counseling experience in blockchain, crypto, and securities products
- J.D. and membership in at least one state bar
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage projects effectively
Responsibilities
- Provide legal leadership and advice on securities, banking, and insurance laws
- Advise markets-focused teams on legal, business, and strategic matters involving digital tokens and financial products
- Counsel throughout the product lifecycle from conception through launch, operation, and sunset
- Monitor and interpret digital asset, blockchain, securities, and technology laws and regulations
- Deliver legal guidance to marketing and design teams
- Establish and maintain relationships with affiliates and ecosystem partners
- Prepare and negotiate financial agreements and related documentation
