About the Role
You will develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for solid rocket motors and energetic materials. You will support process scale-up and qualification, define process controls, create production documentation, analyze performance data, conduct root-cause analysis, and work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, safety, and compliance stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience, master’s degree with 1 year, or 7 years of hands-on experience
- Experience supporting process development and scale-up through production qualification
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement methods
- Experience with SOPs, work instructions, process specifications, and technical documentation
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methods
- Ability to analyze process data for engineering decisions
- Ability to operate within OSHA, ITAR, and hazardous-materials standards
- Eligibility to obtain explosives licenses
- U.S. person status or eligibility for required export authorizations
Responsibilities
- Contribute to process development, scale-up, qualification, and production readiness
- Design and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, tooling, and systems
- Support transition from pilot-scale to full production
- Define process controls, qualification criteria, and production documentation
- Conduct continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, variability, and cycle time
- Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process specifications, and technical documentation
- Prepare technical reports and presentations
- Collaborate with senior engineers and technicians on process engineering and safe materials handling
